NFL rushing yards leader: Ravens’ Derrick Henry within reach of James Cook
Baltimore Beatdown Baltimore Beatdown

The Buffalo Bills already had a playoff spot clinched entering Week 18, so they pulled several key starters early in the game. As such, running back James Cook only added 15 yards on Sunday. That opens the door for Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry to take the NFL rushing title with a late push.

At kickoff, Derrick Henry will need 152 yards to tie Cook for the league lead. Henry has hit that total twice this season.

Cook has 1621 yards with Jonathan Taylor as 1585 yards ahead of Henry with 1469 through 17 games.

Henry has been the NFL’s rushing yards leader twice, both with the Tennessee Titans. In 2019 and 2020, he led the NFL in rushing yards. He was an All-Pro both seasons. He (literally) ran away with it both of those seasons; he won by nearly 200 yards in 2019 and almost 500(!) yards in 2021.

In 2021, Henry beat James Cook’s brother Dalvin, who was second.
