The salary cap increase range is quite a bit larger than teams expected this offseason.

Late Wednesday morning, the NFL officially provided teas with a projected 2025 salary cap range of $277.5 million to $281.5 million for each club. The new was first reported by NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

This range is apparently a bit higher than most expected this offseason. At the very minimum, it will be a $22.1 million increase from 2024’s salary cap of $255.4 million. If it goes all the way up to the high end of the range, it’ll be an increase of $26.1 million.

This is excellent news for almost every team, but especially the ones who had planned to be very active in free agency this offseason. As the numbers rises, the more spending power teams will possess in hopes of building their team the best they can given their current financial situation.

It’s wild to think that, with this projected cap increase, that the league’s salary cap will have increased by over $100 million since the 2018 season when it was just $177 million. In just the past two years alone, it has risen over $53 million.

With this news, it’s bound to be another extremely exciting offseason in the NFL!
