The Pro Bowl Games are back, and the stakes are high! The NFL has revamped the Pro Bowl format, moving away from a traditional football game to a two-day spectacle, culminating in a 7-on-7 flag football game. The competition pits the AFC against the NFC, with each conference earning points through various events. The team with the most points at the end wins.

Here’s everything you need to know about how players earn points for their teams in this year’s Pro Bowl Games.

Passing The Test (3 points)

Quarterbacks have 40 seconds to hit stationary and moving targets, each assigned different point values. They can hit each target once until all have been hit, then restart.

Before the event, a teammate answers five trivia questions about Pro Bowl players. Each correct answer adds 10 seconds, giving a maximum of 90 seconds. The QB with the highest score earns three points for their team.

Satisfying Catches (3 points)

One wide receiver, tight end, and defensive back from each conference compete in a four-stage obstacle course that tests their ability to catch footballs.

  1. One-handed catches: Players make three one-handed catches from eight to ten yards.
  2. Mascot hands: Players catch a pass while wearing oversized mascot gloves.
  3. Jump catch: Players run and leap to catch a pass from a JUGS machine.
  4. Sprint to finish: If the catch is completed, they sprint to finish. If dropped, they must complete an agility course first.

The conference with the lowest combined time wins.

The Big Spike (3 points)

Three offensive linemen from each conference take three swings at the β€œSpike-o-Meter,” which measures the power of their football spike. The highest-scoring player wins three points for their conference in Pro Bowl skills competition.

Relay Race (1-3 points)

Four players of different positions from each conference compete in a relay race. Each player runs 40 yards before passing the ball to a teammate. The fastest team wins the round, with each round awarding one point.
