The Broncos now control their own destiny.

With a 24-17 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, the Denver Broncos improve to 11-2 on the year, won their 10th straight game, and are once again the number one seed in the AFC. While the Broncos did not clinch a postseason spot this week, they did gain a significant tiebreaker over the Patriots. This victory gives the Broncos a two-way tiebreaker with the New England Patriots for playoff seeding based on a better record against common opponents.

The Patriots are enjoying their late-season bye week this week and will now fall to the 2 seed in the AFC with an 11-2 record. The number one seed in the AFC will likely be decided by these two 11-2 old rivals who fought for control of the AFC back during the Peyton Manning and Tom Brady days.

While the rest of the AFC remains to be determined due to the Texans and Chiefs playing tonight on Sunday Night Football and the Chargers and Eagles playing on Monday Night, the Broncos’ road is clear. They’re in control of the AFC West and are nearing clinching scenarios, especially if the Chiefs and/or Chargers lose and they’re chasing after the bye week and homefield advantage in the playoffs.

Looking ahead, the Broncos have two tough home games coming up vs. the Packers and Jaguars before a Christmas Night match-up vs. the Chiefs at Arrowhead on Thursday Night, followed by a home finale vs. the Chargers. As for the Patriots, they host the Bills next week before going on the road to face the Ravens, followed by a road game vs. the Jets and a home game vs. the Dolphins.

It’s going to be an exciting final month of football, and our Denver Broncos are in a great position to win the AFC West and to get the number one seed in the AFC.

Exciting times in Broncos Country.
