Longtime NFL insider Tom Pelissero is facing criticism from fans over his recent social media posts. People noticed something unusual about the images he has been sharing. Many believe the pictures were created using artificial intelligence.
Pelissero has covered the 2025-26 head coaching carousel. Readers first spotted the issue when he posted news about John Harbaugh becoming the New York Giants’ new head coach. The image showed Harbaugh wearing Giants gear. Fans said the picture looked fake and likely came from AI.
“NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero appears to have taken the plunge in recent days, coupling generative AI-created imagery with his breaking news posts on social media,” Awful Announcing wrote. “Readers have noticed, and many of them aren’t pleased about it.”
Pelissero later shared another image. This time, he posted a picture of former Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy. The post is tied to a report about the Pittsburgh Steelers. The image again looked AI-made to many fans.
Pelissero added a long caption about McCarthy’s ties to Pittsburgh. “Mike McCarthy’s father, Joe, was a firefighter and Pittsburgh Police Department officer who also owned Joe McCarthy’s Bar and Grill,” he wrote. “Mike was raised a Steelers fan and beat them in Super Bowl XLV. Now, a true Yinzer could come home to pursue the franchise’s next Lombardi.”
The images got a quick reaction online. Fans flooded his replies, they have shown their anger clearly.

One fan took a softer tone but still pushed Pelissero to stop. “Why are you posting AI slop? You’re one of the few people I actually believe has a set of morals, Tom. I watch you on Rich Eisen’s show every week. You seem like a good guy. Please get yourself educated in this matter, and then stop using all AI. Thanks,” the fan wrote.
