NFL mock draft: Patriots address offensive line in Daniel Jeremiah’s new mock
Pats Pulpit Pats Pulpit

The former NFL scout thinks the Patriots will upgrade in the trenches.

Gone are Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter, so what do the New England Patriots do in such a scenario? They address the biggest overall need on the team, at least in Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft.

The NFL Network lead draft analyst and former college scout has them go after LSU offensive lineman Will Campbell, arguably the top O-lineman in the draft this year, in his latest projection:

New England Patriots

Will Campbell

LSU · OT · Junior

There are higher-rated players available here on my board, but the Pats need to upgrade their offensive line in a big way.

Campbell would be an interesting addition to New England’s offensive line, and might be an immediate upgrade at both tackle and guard. Where he will end up, though, is anybody’s guess at this point in time: a lack of length might prompt teams to view him more favorably on the inside rather than at tackle.

How the Patriots feel about this discussion might determine whether he is indeed a realistic target at No. 4 overall.
