How would you grade this projection?
Welcome to this year’s Mock Simulation Series! Each week, I will run a simulation of the 2025 NFL Draft for the Philadelphia Eagles using the Pro Football Focus Draft Simulator.
Okay, I am calling it. After much internal struggle, Jalon Walker is my guy in this draft. And he needs to be an Eagle. Vic Fangio can use him as a defensive multi-tool that can play off-ball and the drop onto the line of scrimmage in obvious passing situations. He can be a weapon in this defense.
Cooper DeJean Scenario 2.0 with Benjamin Morrison. The Notre Dame cornerback would be a first round pick if not for an injury riddled final season at South Bend. The Eagles benefit and get a player who could immediately compete for the CB2 spot.
Ashton Gillotte is a peculiar prospect. He is short, stout, strong as hell and has a great motor. He might be a tweener in the NFL, but he reminds me of an Eagle who just retired after 15 years with the team… Gillotte’s strength and motor could be an asset as someone who’d an set the edge against the run or slide inside on sub-packages.
It feels like we are only days away from a Dallas Goedert trade. If that happens, tight end becomes a top priority for the team. In the meantime, they can target mid round tight ends. Mitchell Evans has all the traits of an NFL tight end, but had his production limited in a run heavy Notre Dame offense. His best ball is still ahead of him.
Nick Nash would be such a great late round pick for an Eagles team in need of wide receiver depth. Nash is not an exceptional athlete, but has a long build and is a refined technician at the receiver position. He would push the other young guys on the depth chart in camp and could emerge as a viable option in the passing game behind the obvious stars.
We all know the late round guard/tackle pick is happening.
The QB factory is a 24/7/365 operation. While Dorian Thompson-Robinson is an exciting QB3 option for the Eagles, Quinn Ewers has a lot of potential to be a legit NFL quarterback. Injuries played a role in his uneven college career, but the talent is obvious. This could be another Howie Roseman masterclass where he’s traded for a third round pick or something in the future before his rookie contract is up.
