During a team meeting last summer, Thompson suffered a seizure that resulted in cardiac arrest for more than 90 seconds. He regained consciousness a few days later. Ever since, the Chiefs have played it very safe when it comes to his playing future. He spent the summer on the active/non-football injury list and was not activated in time for the final roster cut deadline.
