At 3-4, the Bengals are on the border between being buyers or sellers at the Trade Deadline, which is on November 4th.
But with a winnable game Sunday against the 0-7 New York Jets, the Bengals appear to be trending towards maybe making a trade to add to a position of need that can help them emerge as contenders in a wide-open AFC.
NFL Insider Jordan Schultz recently weighed in on the Bengals, and what he is saying is what fans will want to hear.
“The Bengals are doing exactly what they need to do; compete and win as many games as possible before Joe Burrow returns,” Schultz said. “If they beat the Jets and go to 4-4, with the way the AFC North is shaping up, the way that Joe Burrow is rehabbing, which from everything I’ve been told is going excellent, meaning he could be back mid-December, it would be very sensible for Cincinnati to add another player at the [trade] deadline.
“With that in mind, I don’t think Trey Hendrickson is getting traded. In fact, I will tell you this: A lot of teams have called, they tried, but Cincinnati right now has no intention of trading their best pass rusher.”
Can you imagine if the Bengals make another trade at a position of need? With the momentum they have from trading for Joe Flacco, this fanbase will give the front office much-needed credibility and trust.
