Will the Jets move up for a quarterback?
This time of year is all about rumors. Which teams like which players? Which players want off which teams? Log into your favorite social media app and you’ll surely see a few dozen claims of various reputability.
One of the insiders that I find to be quite accurate is Benjamin Allbright, a radio host and NFL insider that is rooted in Denver and focused on the Denver Broncos. Despite his geographical location, Allbright seems quite tapped in nationally and I’ve trusted his speculation and related sources for a few years now. For example, he speculated on the Las Vegas Raiders hiring Pete Carroll weeks before it was made official on January 25th.
Recently, Allbright dropped some New York Jets rumors.
First, he named them as the team most likely to trade up for a quarterback.
Perhaps relatedly, he also named the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns as teams that could trade back, though this may imply there would be a premium if the Titans were moving back far enough to not have a good chance to draft edge rusher Abdul Carter.
In the end, a rumor is just a rumor, but what do you think? Will the Jets trade up?
