Each franchise released statements, both committing to help long-term recovery efforts and offering their thoughts to those impacted.
“We are heartbroken by the loss and damage that our neighbors in the Texas Hill Country has endured. We are especially devastated to hear about the children who are still missing and we are praying they are reunited with their families soon. Our hearts will remain with everyone affected and in addition to our donation, we will continue to support the search, rescue and recovery efforts in the coming weeks.”

The NFL Foundation later followed up by announcing it would donate $500,000, bringing the combined total from the three organizations to $1.5 million. The money will go toward both providing more immediate assistance and helping fund long-term recovery for the affected communities in Texas.
Flash flooding occurred along the Guadalupe River in the Texas Hill Country, a central part of the state that is especially prone to floods due to its soil. The flooding followed a strong storm that delivered 12 inches of rain early on Friday morning, causing extremely high water levels.
As of Monday morning, there are still people unaccounted for in the region, and looming storms have increased the risk of further flooding.
Both the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross are taking donations to their disaster relief funds to help the impacted communities.
