NFL rumors are hot and heavy at the NFL combine but Browns GM gives clear answer to Nick Chubb’s free agency

It’s been a news-filled day at the NFL Scouting Combine for the Cleveland Browns. Nothing new has emerged surrounding the Myles Garrett trade request and questions remain about whether the team will select a quarterback at number two overall.

General manager Andrew Berry did take questions from the media and revealed some new tidbits that have now been confirmed including what position he views as Travis Hunter’s primary position after being asked by our own Jared Mueller.

Another key piece that has widely been expected was confirmed by Berry when he was asked about the future of Nick Chubb. He confirmed that Chubb is expected to reach free agency but did note that they will be in communication with his agent this week and in the days leading up to the start of the new league year.

We can probably expect that Chubb will test the market to determine his value. That became harder to measure after the star running back suffered his second consecutive season-ending injury late in the year.

Chubb was clearly working his way back into form after the devastating knee injury suffered the prior season that threatened his career. One could presume that he should return stronger after another year removed from the more significant injury.

Perhaps the Browns will match a minimal offer to secure one of the most beloved players in franchise history but he could also be lured out of Cleveland with an offer that meets his desired value during free agency.

What do you think? Has Chubb’s time as a Brown run out? Let us know in the comments below.
