Former star NFL safety Rodney Harrison suffered a bizarre and scary-looking moment on Sunday’s edition of Football Night in America prior to Sunday’s game between the Washington Commanders and Denver Broncos.
Co-host Tony Dungy began discussing how the Broncos could attack the Commanders’ defense before turning to Harrison in hopes he’d expand on the thought.

Harrison began speaking momentarily before stopping and saying that he forgot the question. Jac Collinsworth then reiterated the question, asking how Denver could best attack Washington’s defense.
Once again, Harrison began to give an answer before stopping mid-way through, saying “that’s it.”
Now, there are several potential answers to Harrison’s sudden freeze-up. Several respondents stated that Harrison could have been hearing feedback in his earpiece, making it difficult to get his thoughts out while speaking.
But others feared that Harrison, who played 15 seasons in the NFL and made a pair of Pro Bowl appearances, may have suffered a stroke or early symptoms of CTE.
Now, it’s wildly dangerous to make that assertion without any firsthand knowledge of Harrison’s health. So we’re certainly not implying that is what happened.
But whether Harrison had a physical issue or not, the moment was still worrisome. Harrison is not active on social media, so he’s yet to follow up on the incident publicly.
But hopefully, if he felt it was anything beyond a temporary mix-up, he went to consult a doctor following the incident. For his sake, we’re hoping it was just a mix of crowd noise, mic noise, and a busy environment.
