Tom Brady walked away from football, but he didn’t walk too far. Now, he’s standing right in the middle of a mess before the 2025 season even kicks off.
FOX thought it was locking down a legacy when it signed Brady to a 10-year deal as its No. 1 color commentator. Instead, it may have walked into a PR headache. Fans aren’t sold anymore. Some straight-up want him gone.
When Brady first took the booth gig, people were hyped. A seven-time Super Bowl champion behind the mic? What could go wrong? Well, a few things. Like becoming a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, for starters.
The issue isn’t just about performance in the booth. It’s about trust. How can viewers believe in Brady’s “unbiased analysis” when he’s tied to a team?
NFL rules are already keeping him at arm’s length. He can’t sit in on production meetings. He can’t attend other teams’ practices. But even with those restrictions, fans aren’t buying it.

Brady showed up to Raiders training camp on Friday wearing full team gear. A short clip of him watching practice made its rounds on social media, and the outrage came fast.
“Why is the minority owner of a team the color commentator on FOX’s #1 broadcast team? I still don’t understand this at all,” one fan posted.

Another chimed in sarcastically, “Perfectly normal for him to be a network’s #1 analyst. Perfectly normal.”

Some fans don’t even think Brady can pretend to be neutral anymore. “But he can be a broadcaster without being partial, right right,” one said.

FOX isn’t deaf to all the noise going around, but they’ve committed. The network paid top price, and Brady’s still locked in for season two. He’s not going anywhere unless things completely unravel.
Week 1 is still around the corner, but the pressure is real. If Brady doesn’t deliver, or if more clips like Friday’s go viral, the criticism won’t fade. It’ll only get louder.
