Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen returned to his alma matter of the University of Wyoming over the weekend for his jersey retirement ceremony and had his actress/singer/model wife Hailee Steinfeld in tow with him.
Hailee Steinfeld’s fans, however, didn’t seem too thrilled about that. In fact, they don’t seem too thrilled about Josh Allen, in general, who had the weekend off to end the festivities as the Bills opened Week 12 with a Thursday Night Football matchup.
Over the weekend, a pair of tweets about the couple went viral (one photo and one video of the A-list duo) that both had captions disparaging Allen.
“I hate when beautiful women date ugly, horrible, cheating men,” the video was captioned.
“Genuinely amazes me how f—— ugly this creature is, like Hailee your standards are in hell,” the photo read.
The negativity towards Allen from Steinfeld’s fan base apparently reached NFL circles on social media, leaving many confused as to why Steinfeld’s fans are so angry about her being married to Allen.

The below viral tweet summarized the situation perfectly: while Taylor Swift fans and Madison Beer fans seem to blindly through their support behind Travis Kelce and Justin Herbert, respectively, that does not appear to be the case with Steinfeld’s “stans” and Josh Allen.
Steinfeld and Allen got married in May 2025 after beginning their relationship two years earlier in May 2023.
Allen and the Bills will next be back in action on Sunday, November 30 when they head to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers.
