So, I’m guessing that, like me, you saw commercials featuring Peyton and Eli Manning during games late in the season in which Eli was talking about his dream as a young boy to be an NFL kicker. It seemed to be a mildly amusing but ultimately pointless skit by the two Manning brothers, and I paid it little mind.
Well, it turns out that the ‘skit’ was actually FanDuel’s way of introducing a Super Bowl campaign called The Kick of Destiny 3. Seeking to understand what, exactly, the Kick of Destiny 3 is supposed to be, I fired up my Google search engine and I found some good information:
Peyton and Eli Manning will face off in a live competition during the Super Bowl. [T]hey’re attempting 25-yard field goals. It’s all happening during the FOX Super Bowl Pregame Show at 3pm ET.
Why are they doing this? Because FanDuel wants drama, and the Mannings never disappoint. The sportsbook is even offering fans a $10 million prize pool in bonus bets [for] correctly predict[ing] which brother wins.
Looking for a little more detail on the mechanics of the contest, I read this explanation:
Each brother will attempt a 25-yard field goal, with a winner declared if one makes it and the other misses. If neither, or both, make it, the contest continues for up to three rounds. If there’s still no winner, whoever was closest to the center on the final kick wins.

So that’s it; the Kick of Destiny 3 is a field goal kicking contest between the two brothers.
The kicker (pun definitely intended) is that fans can get involved — and win money! — by picking which brother (Eli or Peyton) will prevail in the contest on Super Bowl Sunday!!

If you’re not sure which brother to back in the contest, one option would be to flip a coin.
Another option would be to take into account the nationwide vote in this week’s SB Nation Reacts survey, which was e-mailed to fans of all 32 NFL teams.
As you can see, it was nearly a 60/40 split in Eli’s favor. Take that for whatever it’s worth.
