Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky’s future is now clear.

Orlovsky, who has been a big part of ESPN’s NFL coverage for around seven years, went off the air after Super Bowl 69, hinting that he might be done.

Despite being one of the least controversial analysts at the network, aside from sniffing Molly Qerim’s shoe, and a clear fan favorite, Orlovsky’s return to the Worldwide Leader in Sports was no guarantee.

“You guys know this is the end of the season for me … I’m taking a break. Won’t be on TV for a long time,” he said after the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl earlier this year.

According to The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand, the 41-year-old has opted to stay with the network, having reportedly discussed a move to CBS.

“Dan Orlovsky was not going to do better than ESPN at this point of his TV career. Still not a big enough name to be big without ESPN,” added another.

“Ok, good Now no more talk of him going to NFL to be a QB coach. He settled for the guaranteed ESPN paycheck. He can Kiss Stephen A. Smith’s ring for approving this extension,” said a fourth.

Dan Orlovsky’s New ESPN Terms Unknown

The details of Dan Orlovsky’s new deal with ESPN were not disclosed, but the important thing is he will be back, and most viewers seem to be happy with the news.

Orlovsky joined ESPN in 2018 after spending 12 years in the NFL. Primarily used as a backup, he played for the Lions, Texans, Colts, and Buccaneers. He is mostly remembered for a 2008 gaffe in which he accidentally ran out of the end zone for a safety while playing for the Lions.

He typically features on ESPN’s ‘NFL Live,’ ‘Get Up,’ and ‘First Take.’
