NFL fans noticed the same peculiar thing about Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow after a viral video surfaced of him walking alone in Beverly Hills, California.

The 28-year-old Joe Burrow is coming off the best statistical season of his career. He led the NFL in passing yards (4,918) and passing touchdowns (43), with teammate Ja’Marr Chase capturing the triple crown of receiving (127 receptions, 1,708 yards and 17 touchdowns).

Despite the efforts of those two, the Bengals fell just short of the postseason for the second straight year with a 9-8 finish. It marked the first time Cincinnati missed the playoffs in consecutive years in the Burrow era.

With 2025 NFL training camp less than three weeks away, players are enjoying the last little bit of vacation time before they get down to business and commence the grind of a 17-game regular-season.

Earlier this week, X/Twitter user Skylar Ensign posted a video of Joe Burrow walking down a street in Beverly Hills by himself:

Can anyone confirm if Joe Burrow is in LA? I’m pretty sure I just saw him walking in Beverly Hills. pic.twitter.com/KiW16WhVkI

While this would appear to be a normal video to most, some fans believe that Burrow looked sad and lonely as he walked out in public.

“No Olivia. Of course he’s sad,” one fan wrote.

“Maybe he’s sad because no one respects his privacy?” another suggested.

He knows he’ll never win a Super Bowl. That’s why he looks sad,” a third remarked.

It’s more likely that Joe Burrow was just vibing and enjoying his alone time, but it’s easy for folks to interpret that as something else. Such is life with social media and the internet these days.

Joe Burrow & Bengals Open 2025 Season At Cleveland Browns

Burrow and the Bengals have been notoriously slow starters since he entered the league as a rookie, and that’s what cost Cincy playoff appearances in 2023 and 2024. They’ll look to reverse course and kick off 2025 on a high note when they visit the AFC North rival Cleveland Browns on Sept. 7 (1:00 p.m. EST).

Though the Browns have given Burrow some trouble in the past, Cincinnati completed the season series sweep a year ago, with “Joe Cool” throwing five touchdowns and zero picks in those games.
