Saquon Barkley had no clue that his willingness to hang out with Donald Trump would provoke such a backlash.
On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles running back golfed with President Donald Trump at the latter’s golf course in New Jersey.
On Monday, he was at the White House to celebrate the team winning the Super Bowl in February.
On social media, he was getting blasted.
Barkley and team owner Jeffrey Lurie played golf with former President Barack Obama last October at Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania. There was no backlash.
Now, Saquon Barkley has not only been criticized for golfing with Trump, but social media has given him a ruthless new nickname.

Barkley’s golf outing with the current president came one day before the Eagles’ scheduled visit to the White House.
Some fans on social media weren’t happy about that.
The Philadelphia Eagles running back responded to those critics on X on Monday, telling them to “get out my mentions with all this politics.”
Barkley also pointed out that he has played golf with former President Barack Obama, a Democrat, in the past.
“[S]ome people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT,” he wrote on social media platform X. “Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day (crying laughing emoji).”
