Football fans had a lot to say after an old quote from Deshaun Watson about Popeyes chicken resurfaced.
In a 2019 game against the Oakland Raiders, Deshaun Watson (then with the Houston Texans) managed to throw a game-winning touchdown pass to Darren Fells despite being kicked in the eye on the same play.
Watson’s eye was visibly red and swollen the following week, when the Texans took on the AFC South rival Jacksonville Jaguars in London. After leading Houston to a blowout win, Watson credited Popeyes spicy chicken sandwiches for helping him recover from the eye injury:

The ML Football X/Twitter account reposted that old story on Sunday evening. And as you would expect, football fans had plenty of hilarious responses.
