NFL fans are reminding Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter of his checkered legal past following the defensive lineman’s reaction to advancing to the Super Bowl. Carter and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Washington Commanders in the NFC championship game on Sunday by a score of 55-23.

During the tragic incident that took the lives of University of Georgia staff member Chandler LeCroy and football player Devin Willock on January 15, 2023, Jalen Carter was not driving the car in which the pair were killed, but was racing against them in his own 2021 Jeep Trackhawk. He was not charged with the deaths of either victim.

Carter was ultimately charged with reckless driving and street racing, and was sentenced to 12 months of probation, 80 hours of community service, a driving course, and a $1,000 fine. He was also named in a civil suit filed by the father of one of the deceased.

Despite the facts of the case, the narrative amongst NFL fans is clear based on their reactions to his bravado following the Eagles win over the Commanders in the NFC Championship game. In the win over Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels and the upstart Commanders, Carter had just three total tackles: two solo and one combined.
