Fans are accusing Rams quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo of trying to get Davante Adams killed again following a video from their joint practice.
Garoppolo has been getting the lion’s share of the reps, with Matthew Stafford out with a back injury, probably much to the disappointment of Adams, who was caught criticizing his passing on Netflix series ‘Receiver’ while they were teammates with the Raiders back in 2023.
Adams reunited with Aaron Rodgers on the Jets last season, but still found himself on the same team as Jimmy G. As his luck would have it, Tom Brady’s old backup is likely to enter the upcoming season as the starter, given Stafford’s problems.
Adams has insisted that there’s no beef between himself and Jimmy G, but he was dealt a reminder during a joint practice with the Saints on Thursday, with Garoppolo throwing him what’s known as a “hospital ball” on a play.
While there wasn’t any contact, fans reckon the wideout would have been properly smashed if it had been a real game.
You can check some of their reactions out below:
“Jimmy G throwing hospital balls to Davante Adams… just like old times,” a user noted.
Another user joked:
“Davante Adams to the public media: Love Jimmy G he’s a great QB, blame the Raiders for our issues.
“Davante Adams to Sean McVay: Please bench him he’s going to get me killed throwing these hospital balls.”
“JIMMY GAROPPOLO NEARLY GOT DAVANTE ADAMS KILLED AGAIN,” said a third.
“I’m convinced Davante Adams slept with Jimmy G’s girl or something, he wants him dead,” a comment read.
“Oh man, Jimmy G just threw a hospital ball to Davante Adams. Luckily, guys aren’t hitting because Davante might’ve gotten decapitated,” read another.
Davante Adams signed a two-year, $46 million deal with the Rams following his release by the Jets this year. He didn’t have a great 2024 campaign, especially when compared to what we’re used to. But he looks poised for a rejuvenated 2025 in Sean McVay’s offense.
Of course, he will hope Stafford is the one throwing passes to him for the better part of the season, as it’s why he came to L.A. in the first place.
