People around the league weigh in on the most important decision for the Titans this offseason
The Tennessee Titans landed the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft when their loss and the New England Patriots win in week 18 of the 2024 NFL season. Since then, all of the discourse around the Titans has been about what they will do with the first pick. Will they stay there and draft either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders or will they trade the pick to help boost a roster that needs help at a lot of different positions? It’s the biggest decision new general manager Mike Borgonzi has this offseason.
ESPN polled different executives around the league about what they think the Titans will do. The results were mixed - five think they will trade it and three think they will keep it. The decision would have been easy for the Titans had they had the first pick in last year’s draft. They would have kept the pick and picked a quarterback - most likely Caleb Williams. The decision is not as clear-cut this year with plenty of questions surrounding both Ward and Sanders.
Hopefully, the Titans have not made their decision yet. They should do all of the work on both of quarterbacks before deciding what to do. Of course, as pointed out in the article, in order to trade the pick there has to be a team willing to move up for one of the quarterbacks. I agree with this from the article:
I’d say it would take a pick swap no later than No. 7 overall and a [second-rounder] this year to go with a first-round and at least third-round pick next year.
What do you want the Titans to do?
