It’s hard to find someone who has a bad thing to say about the New England Patriots 2025 draft class.
From drafting Will Campbell fourth overall and taking TreVeyon Henderson early in the second round plus a couple of late-round steals, those in the media have raved about the work Mike Vrabel and company did.
Turns out, those around the league liked the picks the Patriots made, too.
“I thought they did a really nice job, should be able to get early contributions from a lot of them,” an AFC scout told the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed. “(Joshua) Farmer and (Bradyn) Swinson on Day 3 were great values.”
The Patriots made 11 selections during the draft and addressed several areas of need after filling some holes in free agency.
“I thought they had a very strong draft all the way through,” an NFC West executive told Kyed.
New England’s first four picks came on the offensive side of the ball as they drafted Washington State wide receiver Kyle Williams in the third round and Georgia center Jared Wilson in the fourth round. Wilson was one of three offensive linemen the Patriots picked, joining Campbell and Missouri offensive tackle Marcus Bryant, a seventh-round selection.
When all was said and done, an AFC analytics executive told Kyed the Patriots’ draft class finished within the top 10 in the league.
“I think it’s a really, really solid class,” the executive said. “They filled a lot of holes with guys I liked. They didn’t add one single player that I was super high on or found amazing value in a certain pick, but I didn’t dislike a single one of those first six picks, which is more than I can say for most teams in the league. Simply not (expletive) up puts you ahead of half the league.”
