NFL Executive Reveals Why Jalen Hurts Is ‘Underrated’

The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-0 to start the season.

It hasn’t been easy or pretty, but the defending Super Bowl champions have gotten the job done.

That’s why quarterback Jalen Hurts doesn’t care about his numbers or his highlights.

Confronted about his less-than-impressive stat line in the Week 2 win against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Super Bowl MVP pointed out that all that mattered was getting the win.

That team-first and competitive mindset is why an unnamed NFL executive recently gushed about Hurts’ leadership and personality.

“He is a killer,” the executive told The Athletic. “His toughness and makeup are so underrated. He’s got so many competitive things about him that make him special. We concern ourselves so much about arm talent and then just completely underrate the intangibles at the position. When you were around him in the draft process, you were never going to bet against him, and the rest of the team reflects that too.”

A second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Hurts rarely gets the credit he’s earned.

While he may not be the flashiest player or put up the most impressive numbers, he’s the perfect QB to run the Eagles’ offensive system.

Hurts’ mentality is his biggest strength.

He’s never too high or too low, and he doesn’t get carried away.

Hurts never allows the moment to get into his head. He stays cool through the storm and does his job.

The fact that the Eagles don’t need him to pass for 250 yards and two touchdowns to be successful doesn’t mean he’s not capable of doing so.

Even if he couldn’t, he has helped the Eagles to the Super Bowl twice in the past three seasons, and they look like they have an excellent chance to get there again.
