Analyzing Ole Miss WR Tre Harris as a potential draft pick for Cleveland
The Cleveland Browns need to add more athleticism and playmaking ability to the wide receiver room in 2025, and this year’s NFL Draft class is loaded with options in every round for Andrew Berry and Co. to choose from.
The Browns are currently set to lose both Elijah Moore and James Proche in free agency next month, which isn’t terrible but Moore played a fairly large role in the offense in terms of snap count. In order for Cleveland’s offense to be at full strength, they need to have a much more effective and efficient passing game in 2025.
Ole Miss WR Tre Harris is a player who could be on the Browns’ radar heading into draft weekend due to his overall length, soft hands, and contested catch ability.
Fun fact: Harris’ first name is Cleveland.

What an Expert is Saying
“Harris projects best as a big-bodied Z-receiver in the NFL. He thrives running the vertical routes, and although he possesses the physicality to play through press as an X-receiver, his ability to play through contact at the top of routes in isolation will need to see his route running improved.
Harris can ultimately develop into an isolation X receiver, but in the immediate sense, his impact is likely to come with more room to work off the line of scrimmage and attack teams vertically.” - Kyle Crabbs, The 33rd Team
Fit with the Browns
Tre Harris could be the player that Cleveland’s been looking for when it comes to an outside receiver who can effectively attack the defense vertically.
He’s not going to “wow” you with speed but rather with the way he plays the ball in the air and at the catch point. Harris does a great job of contorting his body around to shield defenders away from the football in contested catch situations. Not only would he push to be the day one starter at “X” or “Z”, but he also has the potential to develop into a go-to red zone target as a rookie.
Browns Player Drafting Could Impact
Cedric Tillman. Harris wouldn’t necessarily eat into Tillman’s snaps due to being a better player, it would be more of a timeshare or situational type of thing.
Depending on how Cleveland’s offense looks and operates in 2025, Tre Harris could split snaps with Tillman on the outside if Kevin Stefanski spends more time in 12P.
Priority
Medium to High.
