NFL draft, Jaguars watch: Tracking Browns 2 first round picks after Week 1
Dawgs By Nature Dawgs By Nature

The Cleveland Browns 2025 NFL will be a little bit of now and later for both the fanbase and the organization. Like all NFL fans, winning is the priority, no matter what kind of optimism can be found in moral victories. Even the most optimistic Browns fan knows that Joe Flacco is not the future of the team and can only hope that Dillon Gabriel and/or Shedeur Sanders can secure that future at quarterback.

Otherwise, Cleveland’s two first-round picks in the 2026 NFL draft, one from trading down with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2025 NFL draft, will have to help find that franchise quarterback. That will lead us to tracking draft positioning for both teams throughout the season.

After Week 1 of the NFL season, according to Over the Cap, the 0-1 Browns would be selecting eighth overall with their pick and 23rd with the one from the 1-0 Jaguars. Cleveland’s close loss to a very good Cincinnati Bengals team could predict future success this season, while Jacksonville’s sound defeat of a Carolina Panthers team that is expected to be bad provides less information.

Right now, based on tiebreakers, the Browns fall behind the following 0-1 teams:

  1. New Orleans Saints
  2. New England Patriots
  3. New York Jets
  4. Miami Dolphins
  5. Carolina Panthers
  6. Baltimore Ravens
  7. Atlanta Falcons (whose pick goes to the Los Angeles Rams)

With the Ravens on the schedule in Week 2, things could change quickly. For now, just information with hundreds of games that will change the order until we get to late in the season and things firm up a lot more.
