You won’t find anyone who struggles to see Travis Hunter’s two-way talent, but you will find some who question how it’ll translate to the NFL.
NFL Media’s draft expert Daniel Jeremiah released the first edition of his top 50 prospects Tuesday, and in doing so, ranked Hunter No. 2 overall. Only Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter ranked higher.
However, Jeremiah did express one “concern” relating to the Colorado product.
“My only concern is the question of how long he will be able to physically hold up if he continues to play on both sides of the ball full-time at the professional level,” Jeremiah wrote, echoing the sentiments%20at%20the%20NFL%20level.) of others as the draft process begins.
Hunter averaged 118 snaps per game this season in Colorado, per Pro Football Focus. He played 1,422 snaps total — 713 on defense and 709 on offense. His endurance and production were mind-boggling and a major factor in Hunter winning the Heisman Trophy.
But does that mean the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Hunter will be able to do the same at the next level? That’ll be up to teams atop the 2025 NFL Draft — including the New England Patriots — to forecast.
