Welcome to April and that means we are officially in NFL draft month. Guess who will probably need to hit a home run in every single round to be above average this year? The Dallas Cowboys!
Before we dive into all of that though, let’s just think about the current makeup of the Dallas Cowboys roster. They have some serious issues they need to correct.
They made a handful of moves two weeks ago, but have been silent since, and the problem is, the guys they brought in can’t fix all the glaring needs of this football team.
That leaves them no choice but to maybe start more draft picks in their rookie season than they want to, and unfortunately, some of those might come on day two and beyond.
This team has CeeDee Lamb and that is about it on the offensive side of the ball, Jaylin Noel from Iowa State is a guy that should be around on day 2 for them if they still need to draft a WR.
He is a solid route runner who had a good showing at the combine running a 4.39-second 40-yard dash, jumping 41.5 inches in the vertical and clocking in at 6.82 seconds in the three-cone drill.

He won’t scare you down the field, but one stat really stood out to me, and that was his ability to move the chains.
46 of his 80 receptions went for first downs. However, I do think the Cowboys will reach and maybe feel the pressure and draft a guy like Matthew Golden from Texas in the first round.
Damien Martinez is coming out of nowhere and landing all over the Cowboys mock draft, and I looked into him, and he isn’t half bad for a guy they can get probably on day 3.
Despite rushing for 1,002 yards at a 6.3 yards-per-carry clip in 2024, the talented, productive, yet underrated runner from Lewisville, Texas, is not considered a top running back prospect in the NFL Draft.
He is also the first Miami running back to surpass 1,000 yards rushing since 2016.

It is hard to tell what this team is going to do with their first round pick at 12. If Jeanty does not slip to them, I would wait until day 3 to get a running back.
Martinez is the guy who has been jumping onto all these mocks for the Cowboys, and after looking up his tape, he wouldn’t be a bad day three pick.
