NFL draft: Browns, Jaguars move up after Week 2; both in top 15 now

The Cleveland Browns went from competitive and reasons for optimism in Week 1 to downright embarrassed in Week 2, with some thoughts about a change at starting quarterback. Week 3 doesn’t get any easier with the Green Bay Packers coming to town. The good news for the Browns comes when looking ahead to next year’s NFL draft.

Cleveland has two first-round picks in the 2026 NFL draft, one from trading down with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2025 NFL draft, which should help find that franchise quarterback. That will lead us to tracking draft positioning for both teams throughout the season.

Week 2’s positive came in the form of losses for both the Browns and the Jaguars. Last week, Jacksonville was in the 23rd spot with Cleveland ninth. One week later, both teams have moved up.

Right now, based on tiebreakers, the 2026 NFL draft order is as follows for the Top 15:

  1. New York Jets
  2. New Orleans Saints
  3. Miami Dolphins
  4. Cleveland Browns
  5. Tennessee Titans
  6. Chicago Bears
  7. New York Giants
  8. Kansas City Chiefs
  9. Carolina Panthers
  10. Houston Texans
  11. New England Patriots
  12. Baltimore Ravens
  13. Dallas Cowboys
  14. Washington Commanders
  15. Jacksonville Jaguars (which conveys to the Cleveland Browns)

With the Packers on the schedule for the Browns in Week 3 and the Jaguars hosting the desperate 0-2 Texans, Cleveland’s two first-round picks could be moving up once again next week.
