The NFL announced 2026 training camp and joint practice dates and locations for all teams. The San Francisco 49ers rookies will report to the SAP Performance Facility on July 18, while the veterans will report a week later on July 25.

We’ll see the new faces and how they get acclimated to the team. From Mike Evans and Osa Odighizuwa to De’Zhaun Stribling and Romello Height, it should make for a fun training camp.

How the 49ers rev up some of their star players returning from injury will also be something worth monitoring. George Kittle will need to be cleared before he can return to football activities, while Trent Williams and Christian McCaffrey should have more days off than they do practice days.

That’ll be helpful for the organization. They need to get running backs like Jordan James and Kaelon Black all of the reps they can handle. With Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams either rehabbing or returning, the door opens for Height to show the coaching staff what he’s capable of.

The 49ers will get bored of practicing against each other after a couple of weeks. Thankfully, joint practices will come in handy.

The 49ers’ first session will take place against Robert Saleh’s Tennessee Titans on August 11 in Santa Clara. We’ll see if the teams hold multiple joint practices. A week later, on August 18, the 49ers will travel to El Segundo, California, for another joint session—this time, against the Los Angeles Chargers.

It’ll be an eventful August for the 49ers, as they need to see whether their rookies and young players can contribute right away, or if they’ll need to rely on some of the veterans added this offseason.
