One NFL analyst is not impressed with the Pittsburgh Steelers offseason additions.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have added several new faces to their offense this offseason, including veteran wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr., running back Rico Dowdle and rookie Germie Bernard. However, ESPN analyst Kevin Clark does not expect much from the group in 2026.

In fact, Clark doesn’t foresee the Steelers offense being any more explosive than it was a year ago.

“No, I don’t,” Clark said on NFL Live. “I don’t think it was a scheme thing last year. I don’t think Arthur Smith was telling Aaron Rogers to throw less than 10 yards at a historically high rate. I think it was Aaron Rodgers trying to get rid of the ball.”

Rodgers certainly isn’t getting any younger at 42, which means he needs to be more aware of staying healthy than ever before, but claiming what the Steelers have built around him this offseason won’t produce better results is a bit head-scratching.

Pittman is bringing a ton of leadership and experience to Pittsburgh with 485 catches for 5,254 yards and 25 touchdowns in his professional career.

Dowdle has taken off over the past two seasons, racking up over 1,000 yards in back-to-back campaigns, and Bernard is coming off a career-high 64 catches for 862 yards and seven touchdowns with Alabama last season.

This isn’t to say that Rodgers is going to return to his MVP form, but he didn’t play poorly in 2025, either, passing for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns and just seven interceptions, and now, he has more to work with.

Steelers fans likely only care about the team finally ending its postseason win drought, though. However, better play from the offense will help with that tall task once again.
