Commanders

Coming off three seasons with the Bills, longtime OLB Von Miller signed with the Commanders after their run to the NFC Championship game. Miller said Washington’s success was a big reason he joined, and he was certain when talking about his ability to keep playing.

“Yeah, it was extremely intentional coming here,” Miller said, via Ben Standig. “You just can’t leave [Bills QB] Josh Allen and go anywhere, man. You just can’t go from the AFC Championship and go anywhere.”

“It’s definitely cool to do this at 36. Proving to yourself you can still play is huge. I can play next year for sure.”

  • Commanders FB Nick Bellore was fined $10,847 for unnecessary roughness.

Cowboys

  • Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones on DT Kenny Clark: “Kenny has just been more than advertised for us. He’s a leader. He’s great on the field. He’s great off the field. He’s a guy we want to have around here.” (Machota)
  • Jones said they “absolutely” want DE Jadeveon Clowney back next season: “He’s played at a very high level. … We’ll be talking with his guys right away. … Hopefully with his willingness to want to be here and us wanting him to be here, hopefully we can figure something out.” (Machota)
  • Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced they are starting QB Dak Prescott in Week 18 but implied he might not play the entire game. (Todd Archer)
  • Jones hinted that RB Jaydon Blue could get extended snaps in Week 18 with RBs Javonte Williams (shoulder) and Malik Davis (eye) dealing with injuries. (Archer)

  • Cowboys S Markquese Bell was fined $11,593 for a facemask, LB James Houston was fined $5,722 for a blow to the quarterback’s head/neck, FB Hunter Luepke was fined $8,537 for use of the helmet, WR George Pickens was fined $11,593 for a facemask, CB Caelen Carson was fined $5,686 for striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing, and CB Reddy Steward was fined $4,667 for a horse-collar tackle.

Eagles

Eagles HC Nick Sirianni admitted that he needs to spend more time assisting OC Kevin Patullo when it comes to the playcalling, and reporters asked how he could specifically do so.
