Buccaneers WR Mike Evans said he is heading into the final game of this season without any thoughts in his head about if, when, or where he will end up playing football next year.

“I just approach it how I always approach it,” Evans said, via Jenna Laine of ESPN.com. “It’s whatever happens, happens. I’ll focus on that when the time is right. Right now, we have to win. And I’m always giving my all and I’m always gonna go out swinging.”

  • Jordan Schultz reports that now Packers CB Trevon Diggs requested that HC Brian Schottenheimer allow him to stay in Washington with his family for the holiday.
  • Schultz says that players usually are asked for and granted these requests, yet Diggs had his denied by Schottenheimer. Diggs noted that if he flew back to Dallas, he would only be taking the first flight back to Washington, yet the team still denied his request.
  • This led to Diggs being released by the team and subsequently claimed by Green Bay. Schottenheimer said the decision to release Diggs was for several reasons, including performance: “I’m not The Grinch That Stole Christmas. Other players asked to stay and were told no.” (Archer)
