A former cornerback of the Pittsburgh Steelers is looking for a new home.

The Detroit Lions are waiving former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Arthur Maulet, the team announced.

Maulet, 32, signed to the Lions practice squad on Oct. 8 and was promoted to the active roster on Oct. 20. In Detroit’s Week 7 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he picked off quarterback Baker Mayfield for his fifth career interception.

He began his career as an undrafted free agent in 2017. As a rookie, he signed with the New Orleans Saints, who he spent the first couple years of his career with.

Maulet then jumped around the league, spending time with the Indianapolis Colts (2018), Saints again (2018) and New York Jets (2019-20) before finding some stability in Pittsburgh.

From 2021-22, Maulet stepped in as the Steelers slot cornerback, recording 106 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, four passes defensed and one interception.

However, Pittsburgh parted ways with Maulet before the start of the 2023 season, and he joined its division rival the Baltimore Ravens.

Maulet went on to spend a couple years in Baltimore as well, and even earned a two-year contract extension after a standout year in 2023, when he registered 37 tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries, one interception and five passes defended.

He was released this offseason, though, following an injury-riddled season in 2024, during which he was limited to just three games.

Since then, Maulet has played for the Houston Texans and Lions, and will now look for his potentially eighth home in the NFL.

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Maulet has recorded 239 tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, 18 passes defensed and five interceptions in his professional career.
