A new video has surfaced online showing Ryan Kennedy, the fan involved in the altercation with DK Metcalf, from a different angle. And he’s heard making a questionable 4-word statement after getting struck.

Metcalf and Kennedy got into it during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Kennedy, a Lions fan, said something to the wide receiver that caused him to snap.

The two-time Pro Bowler was shown on the CBS broadcast holding Kennedy and then swinging on him.

A video recorded by a fan positioned behind Kennedy has emerged, and he can be heard saying, “That was the goal.”

Begs the question, what was the goal?

Was he trying to get Metcalf to hit him?

DK Metcalf And Ryan Kennedy Have Danced Before

It’s reported that the two have some history. Kennedy was involved in a verbal confrontation with Metcalf during a game between the Lions and Seattle Seahawks last season. According to reports, the wideout pointed him out to security at one point.

It’s since been reported that Kennedy is considering legal action.

He told the Detroit Free Press he was not disrespectful toward Metcalf, and all he did was refer to the player by his full name.

“He doesn’t like his government name. I called him that and then he grabbed me and ripped my shirt,” he said. “I’m a little shocked. Like everyone’s talking to me. I’m a little rattled, but I just want the Lions to win, baby.”

A source close to Metcalf has offered a different version of events. Kennedy has been accused of insulting the WR’s mother and calling him “something we both know you don’t call a Black man.”

Metcalf was not tossed from the game but has been suspended for the final pair of regular-season fixtures.
