The New York Jets have made a decision on Younghoe Koo’s future. Koo has been released by the team per a report by Jordan Schultz. The news comes as Koo signed with the team last week. It also follows a tumultuous past year for the former Pro Bowl kicker, who was a standout for the Atlanta Falcons.

Cool was released by the Falcons after seven seasons in the early aughts of the 2025 season. The release came after Koo missed a 44-yard game-winning field goal against the Buccaneers in Week 1 of the season. Following his release, he was complimentary of the Falcons organization and his experience.

“I want to thank the Falcons organization for giving me an opportunity when no one else would six years ago. This place helped me grow as a kicker and as a man. I will forever be grateful for the support from the fans during my time here. I have nothing but love and respect for everyone in the building, I wish yall the best. I’m full of gratitude and excitement as I continue my journey in this league.”

He then quickly signed with the Giants, where he had a stellar debut for the team, hitting two field goals as well as two extra point tries, but his struggles continue, leading to him being waived by the team in December. He then signed a one-year contract with the Jets on May 28, only to be released less than a week later.

Koo now looks to find a landing spot as the 2026 season looms.
