Breece Hall might be donning a new uniform soon.

After a disappointing 2024 campaign, Hall thought he might be gone from New York during the offseason.

Last year, Hall was second behind only the 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey but fell in rushing yards (876), catches (57), and touchdowns (8).

Hall is, by most measures, a “budding star” at running back. But he’s entering the final year of his contract, and his time might be up.

NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline is dropping reports that the Jets might part ways with Breece Hall by the deadline and move forward with RBs Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis.

Pauline mentions the coaching staff has been impressed with both backs, which could have some influence on a Hall trade.

“Allen, a second-year back who was a fourth-round selection in 2024, surprised everyone last season and played beyond expectations. Davis, a favorite of this coaching staff, has been more than serviceable as a rotational back.”

Why isn’t Hall worthy of a contract extension like two other standouts in his 2022 NFL Draft class, Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner?

It appears to be simple: The Jets likely do not want to pay a high salary to a running back.

Hall topped the NFL in receptions by a running back in 2023. He also led the Jets in total touchdowns in each of his first three seasons.

Breece Hall Can Fight For A Huge Deal During The 2025 Season

24-year-old Breece Hall is coming off a year in which he totaled 876 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He also caught 57 passes for 483 yards and three more TDs.

That still wasn’t good enough for the Jets to lock him up with a long-term deal.
