All of the early signs regarding the post-Aaron Rodgers era in New York seem to be pointing in the right direction, as not only has the culture around the team reportedly improved, but Rodgers’ QB replacement Justin Fields has reportedly been lighting it up during the early stages minicamp.

With reporters in attendance for the New York Jets’ minicamp practices this week, there have been rave reviews of Justin Fields coming out of Florham Park as the Aaron Glenn era begins in earnest.

“This was one of Fields’ best days in a Jets uniform to this point. On both ‘move the ball’ periods, he led the team into scoring range. He was also very protective of the football, throwing away passes that didn’t have a chance to be completed,” reported Athlon Sports.

This clips cuts off before the beginning of it — doesn’t do it justice. Justin Fields had dudes in his face and stayed calm and completed this to Reynolds. It was a great throw. https://t.co/LMH3jYxMx9

Justin Fields followed this up with maybe an even better throw. He found Josh Reynolds and I’m not even sure how he saw him. A few defenders in his face. Great read — hit him for a touchdown. https://t.co/3vf8SQyV0b

Fields’ performance is seemingly having a positive impact on Jets’ star wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who SNY reporter Connor Hughes says looks better than ever. Wilson is coming off three consecutive 1,000 yard seasons with the Jets despite constant uncertainty at the quarterback position.

“This guy is just a workaholic. He comes in early, he’s here late, and he’s trying to digest everything and download all the information and do things the right way,” Jets offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand said of Fields.

Fields, 26-years-old, is in his first season with Gang Green afte starting in 28 games for the Chicago Bears from 2021 to 2023, compiling a record of 10-28. He then spent 2024 with the Pittsburgh Steelers, starting 6 games and going 4-2 before being benched for Russell Wilson.
