Gang Green Nation
Good morning Gang Green Nation!
The New York Jets surprisingly had rookie wide receiver Arian Smith inactive in last Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. He had been surpassed on the depth chart by recent additions John Metchie and Adonai Mitchell, but few expected the seldom used Allen Lazard, who has no future with the Jets, to be active in Smith’s stead. Was it a one-time disciplinary measure? There are rumors to that effect. Whether it was a disciplinary move or performance based, or some combination of the two, this is not a great sign for Smith’s future. Next year Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell will be back. John Metchie likely will be too. The Jets will likely draft a receiver, and they may sign a free agent as well. Will there be a place for Smith on the team? There will be if he ups his game. If not, he may be one and done.
