Good morning Gang Green Nation!
The New York Jets brought in eight defensive backs for tryouts yesterday. They ultimately signed one, cornerback Nik Needham, to the practice squad. It’s not exactly a franchise altering move. Nonetheless, at least the Jets brass is being proactive, scouring all available avenues to make incremental changes to improve the team. In the short term, the move itself is trivial. In the long term, a leave no stone unturned approach to rebuilding this roster may yield some interesting results. It’s not splashy, but it’s better than some recent Jets GMs who stood pat and watched clearly undermanned Jets rosters while making minimal efforts to improve. Baby steps are better than no steps.
