Good morning Gang Green Nation!
With Tyrod Taylor out for the entire preseason after undergoing a surgical procedure and Brady Cook a little banged up, the New York Jets are down to just two healthy quarterbacks on the roster. Consequently the Jets brought in unrestricted free agents C.J. Beathard and Nathan Peterman for a look yesterday. These are names that should give nobody confidence, but it’s not really much of an issue. All the Jets need is a warm body who can learn the bare bones of their offense quickly and be reasonably accurate with their throws so practices can be productive. It is most likely an extremely short term gig to take up reps in practice and play some snaps in preseason games until the Jets have at least three guys healthy. After that it’s most likely sayonara to whomever they bring in.
