Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets
Good morning Gang Green Nation! Another day, another suggestion the New York Jets might trade a player who may have no trade market. Yesterday it was Jeremy Ruckert. Today it’s Malachi Corley. Corley was all but invisible in his rookie year last year. One might wonder if Corley is actually in danger of being cut from a Jets team with one of the worst receiver groups in the NFL, as some reports suggest, where would he find a better opportunity? Is there a team in the NFL that views Corley as anything more than a back of the roster flyer? Perhaps some team liked him enough coming out last year that they would be eager to trade for him, but I have my doubts. That could of course change with a strong training camp by Corley, but if that happened, why would the Jets want to move him and deplete an already suspect receiver group?
In all likelihood no trade market will materialize for Corley, assuming the Jets even want to trade him. Assuming his current injury does not keep him off the field much longer, Corley will likely either impress in camp and make the Jets roster or he will not impress and be waived. Any potential trade seems like a long shot, but hey, you never know. Stranger things have happened. All it takes is one team to see something in him the Jets don’t.
