Good morning Gang Green Nation! There’s not much happening with the Jets today. The biggest thing seems to be the competition between Joe Tippmann and Josh Myers for the starting center position. Tippmann had a strong season last year in his second year in the NFL, but Myers may have an advantage in that he was Justin Fields’ teammate in college and he is more familiar to Aaron Glenn, having played for the Green Bay Packers, a division rival of the Detroit Lions. On a larger scale, it will be fascinating how the Jets’ interior offensive line shakes out over the next couple of years. Currently the Jets have four capable starters for three starting interior offensive line positions, but next year John Simpson, Josh Myers and Alijah Vera-Tucker are all slated to become unrestricted free agents, and in 2027 Joe Tippmann will be eligible for free agency as well. 2025 is shaping up to be a yearlong audition for the Jets’ entire interior offensive line as to who is worthy of an extension. Should be interesting.
