Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets
Good morning Gang Green Nation! Aaron Glenn says special teams will be an emphasis for the New York Jets. That of course is something any head coach would say. We’ll see how it plays out on the field.
Special teams come down to good coaching more than any other part of the team, largely because the stars do not play special teams. The coach has to make do with an ever changing cast of back of the roster guys. The Jets had one of the best special teams coaches of all time for a dozen years in the early 2000s in Mike Westhoff. Now they have Chris Banjo, a newly minted 35 year old special teams coordinator. Banjo coached under Westhoff last season. If Westhoff taught him well, perhaps Banjo leads some great special teams for years to come with the Jets. One can hope.
