Good morning Gang Green Nation! The post-draft NFL power rankings are starting to pop up, and what a difference a year makes. A year ago the Jets were being talked about as a playoff team and possibly even a Super Bowl contender. This year, not so much. Most power rankings have the Jets not only missing the playoffs for a 15th consecutive year, but also buried deep among the dregs of the NFL. Some even project the Jets to have the first overall pick when the 2026 NFL draft rolls around.
Will the Jets be as bad as many people are predicting? Who knows? I think it’s fair to think the Jets aren’t likely to make the playoffs this season. The depth of the team is suspect, the quarterback has yet to have sustained success, and the offensive weapons leave something to be desired. Beyond that, with a new starting quarterback and an all new coaching staff, along with a lot of new talent up and down the roster, there are so many unknowns this season it feels like a wider than normal range of outcomes is possible. As they say, that’s why they play the games. Here’s hoping the Jets surprise to the upside for a change.
