Good morning Gang Green Nation! There’s a lot of smoke concerning the New York Jets’ interest in Tyler Warren lately. Now there’s talk that the Jets are “infatuated” and “all in” on the Penn State tight end. Apparently they are trying to set up multiple meetings with him. All this sounds just a tad over the top. Is the new Jets regime really this loose-lipped about their draft preferences? Maybe. But consider this. We are accustomed to terms of Jets free agent deals being disclosed within a couple of days, if not sooner, under prior Jets regimes. Under this regime the terms of 10 of the Jets free agent contracts have yet to be disclosed two weeks into the free agency period. That looks like an extraordinarily tight-lipped new regime. Would the same regime be blabbing their draft preferences all over the internet? Perhaps, but color me skeptical. We’ll see soon enough, but my guess is the “infatuation” with Warren is more smoke screen than anything else.
