Good morning Gang Green Nation! The New York Jets made it official as they hired Detroit Lions’ passing game coordinator Tanner Engstrand to be their new offensive coordinator. The Jets also hired Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebackers coach Aaron Curry as their linebackers coach and Tennessee Titans cornerbacks coach Chris Harris as their secondary coach. There will be more additions to the coaching staff in the days ahead, but most of the heavy lifting is now done. The new Jets coaching staff features a lot of youth and inexperience, with a sprinkling of veteran minds included. Many of these guys are being hired into positions they have never served in previously. That could be an issue, at least in the short run. However, many of these guys are also coming from very successful organizations, and many are considered among the rising stars of young NFL coaches. We’ll see how this all plays out soon enough, but for now optimists and pessimists both have sufficient food for thought over the offseason.
