Good morning Gang Green Nation! The divisional round of the NFL playoffs got underway yesterday, with both #1 seeds seeing action. In the AFC, the #1 seeded Kansas City Chiefs made it to the AFC Championship game for the 7th consecutive year with a victory over the Houston Texans. In the NFC, the #1 seeded Detroit Lions fell to the Washington Commanders as the Lions’ defense collapsed under the weight of an avalanche of injuries.
The divisional round will continue today, with the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC and the Buffalo Bills hosting the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC. Those should be a couple of great games, with the Bills/Ravens matchup featuring the two leading MVP candidates this season in Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.
Meanwhile, the New York Jets continue to dither in their long searches for a new general manager and head coach. If the rumors that Aaron Glenn is the leading candidate for head coach are true, perhaps we will see a decision there soon now that Glenn’s Lions are eliminated from the playoffs.
