Woody Johnson is indisputably one of the worst owners in American sports. The Jets have been largely garbage since he purchased the team in 2000, with just six playoff wins in that time.
The New York Jets aren’t just bad in the context of the NFL, either, but all major American sports, as their postseason drought of 14 years and counting is the longest streak across all of the four major American sports leagues: NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL.
The malignant presence that is “Woody” has now spread to the Premier League, as he has purchased a 43% stake in the London-based club for $254 million dollars.

Just a few months prior to Woody Johnson investing in the team, Crystal Palace experienced arguably the greatest moment in its history as they won their first-ever title, the FA Cup, and as a result officially qualified for the group stage of the 2025–26 UEFA Europa League, their first ever appearance in an UEFA competition.
